Have you neglected your skin all winter and now you dread unpacking all those skin revealing clothes? If your skin is looking a little dull and weather-worn, it's time for a good scrub down.
I'm a huge fan of body scrubs. They just make you feel like a million bucks and leave your skin so soft and smooth; it's like a mini spa treatment in a jar. I recently ordered from some indie brands and I'm here to share my thoughts.
First up is Blueberry Body Scrub from Brooklyn Botany. The only salt scrub I ordered because I tend to like sugar scrubs better but I couldn't resist the scent. I also love the benefits of Dead Sea Salt and the fact that there are real blueberries with all their good for you antioxidants. The scent: Oh. My. God. Blueberry. All blueberry and it is divine. Not sugary sweet fake blueberry but a very natural blueberry scent. The 10 oz jar was on sale for $15.99. It was easy to scoop and you just feel all the dead skin sloughing away. Rinsed clean and left my skin super soft. No wonder there are over 80 5-star reviews. This stuff is the bomb.
Next up is this delicious Marshmallow Whipped Sugar Body Scrub from MadCitySoap on Etsy. A 4 oz jar is $6.50. I've ordered this before years ago and it's always been a favorite. The smell is divine. Fresh marshmallow, you just want to eat it. There's even a disclaimer warning you not to taste it! It's perfectly scoopable and the texture is excellent and leaves your skin velvety soft. Samples are always appreciated and she included a teeny jar of Double Butter Body Cream in Bahama Breeze. Think pina colada in an ultra rich body cream. It's divine.
Last up is Goddess Whipped Sugar Scrub from Mod Bath & Body. The scent is described as: an airy blend of soft pink petals, creamy blonde woods, and vanilla bean. It's truly a goddess smell. Feminine without being too flowery, sweet without being too syrupy. This one is a combo of soap and sugar scrub so you get a 1-2 punch. The soap in this makes this one rinse a little cleaner so the after-feel isn't the same as the other two scrubs but wonderful nonetheless. The 8 oz jar is $12. Samples were sent with this order as well - a tiny bar soap in Unicorn Dreamer and a sugar scrub in Prima Donna. I haven't tried either yet but they smell amazing.
I honestly thought there would be a clear winner. I was wrong. I love them ALL, although I warn you not to use the salt scrub after you shave!. My poor skin needs all the help it can get after such a harsh winter so I'll be using all of these on a rotating basis. You really can't go wrong with any of these amazing scrubs. Now, let's go unpack some tank tops!
